The Actuals vs Budget report is one of the most powerful features in ForezynPlan — it shows how your real performance compares to your financial plan.

Prerequisites

You need an accounting integration (Xero or Crunch) connected and at least one sync completed. See the Integrations section for setup instructions.

Opening the report

Go to Reports → Actuals vs Budget. Select the date range you want to analyse.

Reading the report

Each row shows: Budget (your forecast), Actual (from your accounting system), Variance (actual minus budget), and Variance % . Favourable variances (more revenue or less cost than planned) are shown in green. Unfavourable variances are shown in red.

Filtering

Use the component filter to focus on specific areas (e.g. Revenue only, or Payroll only). Use the date range selector to view month-to-date, quarter-to-date, or year-to-date comparisons.

Exporting

Click Export → Excel to download the full variance report as an .xlsx file. This is the standard format for monthly management accounts.

Re-forecasting

After reviewing actuals, click 'Re-forecast from Actuals' to update your remaining forecast periods based on actual performance to date. This is useful for rolling forecasts.
