Employee & Headcount Planning
Add employees, model salaries, benefits, and taxes, and forecast your headcount and cost per employee over time.
The Employees component is one of ForezynPlan's most powerful features — it lets you model workforce costs with individual role-level detail.
Headcount mode vs Simple mode
Headcount Mode: schedule individual roles with hire dates, salaries, employer NI, and pension contributions. Simple Mode: enter a total monthly payroll cost directly. Switch between modes from the component settings.
Adding roles in Headcount mode
Click the Employees component to open the Headcount Table. Click '+ Add Role'. Enter: Role name, Start month (when they join), End month (optional, for contractors), Monthly or annual salary, Employer National Insurance %, and Pension contribution %.
SHA Employee variant
For supported-housing and social-enterprise models, ForezynPlan includes a dedicated SHA (Shared Housing Allowance) Employee form. This variant includes sector-specific fields for housing-related staffing calculations.
Scheduling future hires
Add roles with future start dates to model planned hiring. The payroll cost for each role starts from their hire month and the P&L updates automatically.
Employer on-costs
Employer NI and pension are entered separately (not as a single %). ForezynPlan calculates the total employer cost per role: salary + NI + pension. The Global NI Component applies organisation-wide NI settings across all employee components.
Viewing headcount totals
The Headcount Report (Reports → Headcount) shows total headcount by month, broken down by department or role. Export it for board presentations.
Redundancies and leavers
Set an End month for any role to model leavers or redundancies. The cost stops from that month automatically.
