Creating your first financial model in ForezynPlan takes just a few minutes. Follow the steps below to get your plan up and running.

Step 1: Click 'New Plan'

From your dashboard, click the blue 'New Plan' button in the top-right corner. If this is your first time, you'll see it prominently in the centre of the screen.

Step 2: Choose a template

Select a starting template that matches your business type: SaaS / Subscription, Retail, Professional Services, E-commerce, or Blank. Templates pre-populate common revenue and cost components so you spend less time setting up structure.

Step 3: Set your plan details

Give your model a name, choose the start date (typically the first month of your forecast or the current month), and select your base currency. You can always change these later from model Settings.

Step 4: Enter opening balances

The wizard will prompt you to enter opening balance sheet figures — cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and equity — as at your plan start date. These feed directly into your Balance Sheet and cash flow calculations.

Step 5: Start building your model

You're now in the model editor. Use the '+' button to add rows. Each row is a 'component' — select the type (Revenue, Payroll, DirectCost, etc.) and enter your assumptions. The P&L and Cash Flow reports update in real time as you type.

Tips

Start with your main Revenue stream and one or two cost lines — you can add complexity later. Use the Scenarios feature to build a Base Case first, then duplicate it to create Best and Worst case versions.
