Importing Data from Excel / CSV
Upload XLSX or CSV files, map columns, and validate data before importing actuals or other records.
ForezynPlan lets you import historical data from CSV or Excel files, making it easy to migrate from a spreadsheet model or back-fill actuals.
Supported formats
CSV (.csv) and Excel (.xlsx or .xls). Files should have rows representing line items and columns representing time periods (months). Maximum 50 MB per import.
Starting the import
In your model, click the Import icon in the toolbar (or go to Model → Import Data). Select your file and click Upload.
Mapping columns
The import mapper shows your file's columns on the left and ForezynPlan fields on the right. Match each spreadsheet column to the appropriate component or field. Use the 'Auto-map' button — ForezynPlan will attempt to match columns by name.
Choosing what to import
Select whether you're importing Budget/Forecast data, Actuals, or Opening Balances. This determines which layer of your model the data populates.
After import
Review the imported data in your model. Rows that couldn't be matched will be placed in an 'Unmatched' category — drag them to the correct component or delete them.
Xero / Crunch users
If you use Xero or Crunch, the direct integration is faster and more accurate than a manual CSV import. See the Integrations section for setup instructions.
