Comparing Scenarios Side-by-Side

Compare two or more scenarios in one view — with chart overlays and an automatic summary of key differences.

Scenarios let you model multiple versions of your plan (e.g. Base Case, Best Case, Downside) with independent assumptions, and compare them side-by-side.

Creating a scenario

Open your model and click 'Scenarios' in the toolbar. Click '+ New Scenario'. Choose 'Duplicate from existing scenario' — typically start by duplicating your Base Case. Give the new scenario a name and optionally a colour.

Editing scenario assumptions

Each scenario is independent. Switch between them using the scenario selector in the toolbar. Changes you make in one scenario do not affect others. Edit revenue growth rates, payroll timing, cost assumptions — anything.

What scenarios share

All scenarios share the same model structure (component names, types, ordering). You can't have a component in one scenario that doesn't exist in others. Adding or removing a component applies to all scenarios.

Scenario Comparison report

Go to Reports → Scenario Comparison. Select which scenarios and which metrics (Revenue, EBITDA, Cash) to compare. View side-by-side as a table or chart. Export to Excel or PDF.

Best practice

Build your Base Case first. Lock it once approved. Duplicate to create Best and Downside scenarios. Adjust key assumptions: revenue growth (±30%), major hires (delayed or brought forward), key costs. Present all three to your board or investors.

Version history

ForezynPlan tracks plan changes with a built-in version history. Named snapshots can be saved at any point. You can review the change log (event descriptions and timestamps) and roll back to a previous version if needed.

Inflation drivers

Apply global economic drivers to your model. The inflation driver system lets you define annual inflation rates that automatically adjust Income, Cost of Sales, Operational Costs, and Employees components. Toggle inflation adjustments on or off from the plan settings.
